Project Overview
The Rubber Mixing Line (Banbury) Project involved the complete electrical and automation execution of a high-performance rubber compounding system used for raw material preparation. The project focused on achieving precise process control, operator safety, and reliable continuous production within the Banbury internal mixing process.
Project Scope
1. Electrical Panel Building
Engineering, assembly, and testing of control panels dedicated to the rubber mixing line, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Motor control and drives integration
- PLC control hardware
- Safety components and operator interfaces
The panels were designed to withstand demanding industrial environments typical of rubber processing plants.
2. Automation Programming
Development and commissioning of PLC and HMI software controlling the complete Banbury mixing cycle, including:
- Automatic recipe management
- Raw material feeding and dosing sequences
- Rotor speed and torque monitoring
- Mixing time and temperature control
- Interlocking between upstream and downstream equipment
- Alarm handling and production diagnostics
The automation ensured consistent compound quality and repeatable mixing performance.
3. Safety Integration
Implementation of an integrated machine safety system compliant with industrial safety standards, including:
- Emergency stop architecture
- Safety interlocks for mixer access doors and maintenance zones
- Safe motor stopping and controlled shutdown procedures

4. Electrical Engineering & Wiring Documentation
Preparation of full electrical documentation package:

- As-built documentation for operation and maintenance
5. Installation & Commissioning
Execution of site installation works covering panel installation, field wiring, system integration, functional testing, and final commissioning under production conditions. Performance verification ensured stable operation of the Banbury mixing line within the manufacturing process.
